Washing Instructions

washingCotton & Polyester/Cotton

  • Wash inside out in a cold machine wash – this will minimize fade and preserve colour.
  • Do not use bleach or harsh detergents – this will bleach out colour and leave blotchy marks and colour run.
  • Tumble dry on cool temperature only – heat will cause extra shrinkage
  • If hand washing, rinse in clean water after, then immediately spin out exessive liquid in machine
  • Hang in the shade, inside out
  • Do not leave to soak.

Wool & Wool Blends

  • Wash inside out on Delicate cycle, using an approved Wool Mix laundry liquid
  • Do not use bleach or harsh detergents – they eat away at the natural wool fibre and thin the garment
  • Tumble dry on Cool temperature
  • Do not leave to soak
  • If hand washing, do so with approved Wool Mix laundry liquid and immediately spin out all excess liquid in machine
  • Hang in the shade, inside out

As cotton and wool are short fibres, they have a tendancy to ‘fluff’. If this is not managed by washing the garment inside out, the fluffs will develop into pilling. When these items are washed inside out, the action of light abrasion against itself will reduce the fluffing and avoid pilling. Pilling and fluffing can also be reduced by using a fabric comb, or a battery operated Fuzz Buster, lightly over the fabric. NEVER use sharp blades or razors.

If you need to iron Heatseals, use a piece of baking paper in between the fabric and the iron.
